One day I was getting class started with a brief lecture on something like Bloom's Taxonomy. I was waxing philosophic on the virtues of categorizing lessons, when I heard, from the back of the room, "Hey Hot stuff, what shaking?"

By the rapid movements and flushed face, I could instantly tell which student was to blame. I don't think that she was attempting to make a Skype call during class, there were no ringing noises or other such indicators. I think she forgot to turn Skype off, and had auto-answer turned on.

She was very plainly embarrassed by the event, so simply said, "It's probably a good idea to make sure Skype is off before class." I then went back to setting up the activity for the day, and things progressed as normally as they ever do in my classroom.
